Review: Honeybee Gardens Lipstick (vegan)

I bought samples of almost every vegan color Honeybee Gardens offers.
Watch the video above or read on for a summary!

 Ingredients

- natural, dye-free
- cruelty-free
- the colors I chose are vegan. It seems that they have two formulas going on- their "new vegan formula" and another that contains carmine--they are listed on the website with the lipstick ingredients. However, if you're not buying direct from the company, I would suggest that you double check the ingredients of a color, in case it's not the vegan formula!

If Honeybee Gardens is reading this, I hope you convert more of your products to being carmine and lanolin free!

Price

Full size: $12.99 (honeybeegardens.com, ulta, and some colors are on vitacost/iherb for $9)

Sample: $0.50 (honeybeegardens.com)

Formula

These colors are matte (although some other colors in the line are marked frost/shimmer). More matte and better formula/staying power than the Silk Natural Velvet Mattes.

Upon application, there is a bit of a creamy finish, which then dries down in an hour or so, making the color more matte. It's lightweight when applied, but once it settles in, you can barely feel it at all.

It feels a little dry, but I think it has the typical amount of dryness you would expect from a matte lipstick.

What I really love about this is that it wears well and once the color fades, there is an even stain.

Colors

Honeybee Gardens lipstick swatches: Risque, Goddess, Cherokee, Desire, Queen Bee

These colors are beautiful and pigmented, but I do wish there was a wider selection of vegan colors.

If you like matte lips, buy these! I will buy a full-size at some point.
