Review: Bellapierre Lipstick Collection from TJ Maxx

I got this lipstick set for $4.99! Read more for the swatches and review.

Cruelty-free. Not vegan (contains beeswax)

Price: $4.99 at TJ Maxx & Marshalls

I bought this at TJ Maxx, but I've spotted it at Marshalls too. These are great stores to find affordable cruelty-free/natural products. I usually only look in their skincare and haircare aisles, but this box caught my eye.

I was surprised to see it was Bellapierre and even more surprised to see that it was only $4.99 for four lipsticks! My only other experience with the brand is with an eyeshadow that I showed from my swap awhile ago. I don't know too much about Bellapierre and their ordinary pricing, but this lipstick set retails for $49.99 on their website.

Bellapierre Lipstick Swatches (L to R): Couture, Cherry Pop, Bellalicious, L.A. Diva

Packaging

There are two variations of this set and this is the "evening collection" which includes:
 - Bellalicious (bright baby pink)
 - Couture (frost violet magenta)
 - L.A. Diva (nude beige)
 - Cherry Pop (deep berry red)

I definitely would not pay anywhere near the full retail price because these come in cheap containers (think Wet n Wild, 99 cents) and aren't the best lipstick formulation I've encountered. For $5 though, I wasn't expecting much.

Bellapierre Lipstick Lip Swatches (L to R): L.A. Diva, Bellalicious, Cherry Pop, Couture

Formula

Aside from the packaging, these lipsticks also remind me of more conventional ones because they are super pigmented and smell like vanilla. They're creamy but it's to the point where it hugs my dry patches in an unflattering way. It's not as bad with the darker colors, so these are probably going to become the lipsticks I reach for when I don't want to "waste" my nicer lipsticks. Another option I have is to dab it on over other lipsticks.

Something I'm disappointed in is that on the website, it lists Red 7 and Red 6 in the ingredients and I avoid synthetic dyes or anything with Red __, but I didn't catch it since they're not listed on the box under those names. If you're not a stickler for dyes, these could be some affordable natural, cruelty-free lipsticks to add to your collection.

Overall: These are decent lipsticks that you might be able to find for an awesome price. I've seen other Bellapierre products at TJ Maxx & Marshalls too, so definitely give their makeup section a look!
